ABOUT PASTELS

When I've noticed my wardrobe getting darker and darker (wait for these posts), I decided to put some more colours on my blog. And I'm talking about pastels. They are the best way to get a clear and sophisticated modern look, they always helps to create a perfect balance between plain white look and the bright and colourful one. Need I say more? I guess there are plenty reasons why so many people are going crazy over pastels. My reason would be that pastels are the great deal of expression. There's indeed something special about being neutral and positive just by the help of colours in your outfit. Yet, I'm not one of those people who wears pastels all the time. I was a fan of those in my earlier teenage years and now I can't really bring myself to wear them. Why? Let me explain.

There aren't as many fashion and styling related reasons as there are my social fears and psychological reasons explaining one damn question- why the hell I have something against pastel colours? Let's begin with psychological ones, k? Simply put, pastels are scary. And I don't only talk about the fear of getting your clothes dirty and about all these obvious visible stains that out of a sudden become the only thing you can complain about and see at the moment and you're pretty sure, others can too. Well that too, but pastels are scary in a way that when I see a selection of them my mind gets blank. I feel like it's so hard to match them that in the end I get annoyed and decide to go back to black. To say more, sometimes while wearing them I get unsatisfying feeling and from that point- nothing is going to work for me: soft colours look ugly on my pale skin and they make you look fatter than you really are- I bet these are already familiar for you.

However, you may wonder, why after all of this said you still see me wearing pastel colours. And here I have two reason for you: I got bored of dark colours and I ran out of clothes so I started to recycle my last's years pieces. Don't judge.

And guys! Before saying byes to yall, I have to point out that at least I don't wear pastel contact lenses (interested to try though), my captivating Cafe Mimi Waffle Grey from Geo Coloured Lenses do a great job making me look fresh and beautiful all week. It's always fun to try out new things on yourself like a new eye colour and speaking from my experience (wearing GEO lenses for longer than a year), their unique and impressive contact lenses always live up to my expectations. So if you are down to trying something new and getting into a different character go ahead and check them out!
