It was such an honor to be guests at a recent Lilija Larionova and Egidijus Rainys 2016/2017 show and get some inspo by two talented Lithuanian designers.
Even though both designers shared a runway for their latest collections, they had looked into different sources of inspiration. Lilija Larionova collection was inspired by paintings of Belgian surrealist René Magritte while Egidijus Rainys used a slight ballet touch by the help of tulle which couldn't be seen very often in his previous collections. He presented a line of overwhelming evening gowns and even a few wedding dresses.
Speaking of Lilija Larionova collection, it seems like the designer got more modest compared to her previous line "White Horses". However, I loved everything about the minimal modern feel that Larionova expressed through her line. There were a lot of lightweight flowy dresses paired with heavy oversized jackets or coats. Models showed up with light scarves wrapped around their heads, wearing a bowler hat on top. I liked that designer layered clothes and played with delightful pastel colours.
